Ampire remote signal generator with switch-on delay
With every input signal (including loudspeaker signal), the remote signal generator generates a 12 volt switch-on line delayed by about 1 second, ideal for car radios that not have a remote output to switch on an amplifier. The remote signal generator can also be used to setup a telephone muting function.
The remote signal generator does not work with every input signal, only with a BTL signal. BTL means Bridge Tied Load (bridged operation). Both loudspeaker connections are each connected to an amplifier, one is controlled with the opposite signal from the other. This technique is often used, for example, for amplifiers in the car, because more power can be achieved with the available 12 volts.
